My experience

UX/UI Designer
Flight Centre
May 2016 – Present

As a UX/UI Designer at Flight Centre, I work across the entire project life-cycle. I am involved at the high-level UX solution design and work on gathering requirements and defining goals for the project. I then work closely with development to lead the UI execution and managing the design and quality of through delivery. Testing and iteration planning then commence as the project matures. All my work is mobile first, user focused and delivered with agile/lean methodologies.

• Prototyping high & low fidelity designs
• Multi device, responsive mobile first design
• Component / Pattern libraries (style guide driven development)
• User journeys & flow analysis
• Agile / Lean UX focus
• Leading the delivery of the FC Design System based from Material Design

My primary project is to facilitate and design the new Platform website, whilst maintaining a design standard to be applied to other websites. This role requires the management and direction of multiple travel brand stakeholders as we build a design system that can create consistency and speed to market for future features.

My secondary role was the rapid roll out of the blog migration for all leisure brand blogs as they are brought from WordPress to Drupal.

As the lead UI, I lead a team of 5 UI designers by mentoring, setting UI standards & driving initiatives to improve & develop the Design team. I am also the assistant team leader of my project, and help manage and plan for a team of developers, tech leads and designers.
